The word "Gospel" means “Good News” — but good news about what?
In its purest form, the Gospel is the message of God’s rescue plan for humanity. It's not just about going to heaven or being blessed — it's about God restoring what was broken, through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The true Gospel begins with bad news:
We are all sinners, separated from God, unable to save ourselves (Romans 3:23). No amount of effort, religion, or self-improvement can bridge that gap.
But here’s the good news:
“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” — Romans 5:8
Through Jesus, God did for us what we could never do ourselves:
This Gospel is not just about being saved from hell — it’s about being reconciled to God, becoming a new creation, and learning to walk in His ways.
It’s a call to repent, believe, and be transformed (Mark 1:15).
Sadly, in today’s world, many distorted versions of the Gospel have taken root. These messages may mention Jesus but leave out the cross, repentance, or submission to God’s will. Some common false versions include:
If we misunderstand the Gospel, we miss the foundation.
Jesus didn’t come just to improve our lives — He came to rescue us from sin and restore us to God’s design. The true Gospel humbles us, but it also sets us free. It calls us to die to self so that we can truly live.
“If anyone would come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow Me.” — Luke 9:23
When we receive the true Gospel:
This is not about perfection — it’s about direction.
The Gospel is not just the starting point — it’s the entire path.
The Gospel isn’t just a message — it’s a person: Jesus Christ.
He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6).
He didn’t come to make bad people good — He came to make dead people alive.
